    What You’ll do

    Summary

    We’re looking for a self-motivated, exceptional writer and communicator to join our Marketing & Communications team in the US.

     

    Working cross-functionally with the US business to develop, plan and implement content and communication strategies for both in-house and external campaigns, the ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent writing and project management skills in working with stakeholders and team members to deliver under tight deadlines. Top candidates will be skilled at creating content that engages our diverse audiences and drives our business objectives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Implement robust media and social media campaigns for the US business

    • Collaborating on and executing US media plans around announcement and media campaigns

    • Preparing presentations and other digital and print collateral

    • Deploying content through communication channels including USA website, social media, digital advertising, video marketing, email marketing, organic search (SEO), paid search (SEM), display ads

    • Managing speaking engagements and promoting Lightsource bp team members to present at key strategic industry related conferences and events

    • Writing stories for company intranet including those about US activities and accomplishments

    • Event management when associated with US communication campaigns or community relations initiatives

    • Monitoring and synthesizing media coverage

    • Collaborating with business units in the US to identify needs, translating this into content strategies and marketing plans that support business goals

    • Collaboratively working with other stakeholders, including bp, to ensure consistent delivery on messaging and maximizing channel output

    • Implementing and maintaining an effective reporting and tracking system to ensure targets, deadlines and budgets are continually reviewed

    • Continually developing new ideas for bright and engaging content to help us meet our corporate goals

    • Some administrative tasks associated with delivering projects such as raising purchase orders

     

    Who we’re looking for

    Knowledge

    • An articulate writer who does not fear brevity

    • Strong presentation and communication skills

    • Consciousness around the changing trends in communication and how to continue creating engaging content for a variety of audiences

    • Ability to adapt and work in a highly diverse cultural environment with team members who are based in other locations or in the field

    • Practical and proactive problem solving by being able to interpret briefs and develop suitable solutions for stakeholders

    • A deep understanding of digital communication trends, tools and KPIs

    • Experience delivering and delivering both internal and external communication strategies

    • Demonstrated ability to leverage social media channels to effectively deliver marketing content

    • Experience leveraging digital marketing tools (SEO and digital advertising, including Google Ads, Google Analytics)

    • A general understanding of the solar/renewable industry a plus

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, along with significant experience in marketing and communications

    • A proven track record of marketing and communications success, with a varied and advanced marketing skill set

    • Journalism, professional copywriting and/or media relations experience preferred

    • Renewable energy industry experience is a plus

    Experience

    • 5+ years’ experience in marketing, communications or similar field

    • 5+ years’ experience in writing copy and developing content across a broad range of collateral, including blogs, press releases, thought leadership articles and social media posts

    • Experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns, including SEO, digital advertising and social media marketing

    • Website content creation, management, and analytics (experience with WordPress)

    • Demonstrated graphic design experience a plus (Adobe suite)

    • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)

    We offer

    • Competitive compensation: $106,000 to $122,000 annually plus a discretionary 15% annual bonus.

    • Four weeks of vacation and three weeks of sick leave annually.

    • 401(k) plan, with a 3% nonelective employer contribution.

    • Hybrid working environment (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday in office, Monday and Friday remote)

    • Monthly personal phone bill reimbursement of up to $100 and a monthly commuter benefit of up to $150/month.
