What You'll Do
Coarc is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Transportation Driver to support individuals by providing safe and reliable transportation to and from agency programs. This role involves operating Coarc vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations, ensuring passenger safety, assisting with boarding, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness and functionality.
+ Safely operate and maintain agency vehicles.
+ Transport individuals to/from programs while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
+ Assist passengers with boarding, seating, and exiting the vehicle.
+ Perform routine vehicle inspections and minor maintenance.
+ Submit required documentation and reports in a timely manner.
+ Participate in ongoing training and maintain necessary certifications.
Requirements
+ Valid NYS Driver's License required.
+ Two years of driving experience preferred.
+ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
+ Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and assisting passengers in emergencies.
+ Strong communication and organizational skills.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Ensure the safe and flexible operation of Coarc's vehicles to meet the needs of the people that Coarc supports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Ensure Coarc's transportation equipment is operated and maintained safely.
+ Operate Coarc vehicles at all times in compliance with all DOT traffic regulations. Perform all duties in a manner that is productive, positive, cooperative, flexible, and promotes the goals of the department and agency.
+ Ensure that all identified passengers are transported safely to and from agency programs as needed. Ensure that all agency safety protocols such as seat belting and or tie downs have been completed each time a passenger is picked up.
+ Provide transportation to other passengers as called upon.
+ Maintain appropriate decorum on the run to ensure the safety of all passengers.
+ Report all accidents, delays, incidents or other agency paper work in a timely and adequate fashion. Submit all required documentation in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
+ Assist passengers boarding or leaving the vehicle as necessary.
+ Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating equipment of the vehicle for the comfort of the passengers.
+ Maintains the cleanliness of the vehicle on a daily basis.
+ Help ensure that all vehicles operated by the department are inspected and maintained in safe working order at all times. Perform routine inspection prior to operation, at the end or each route, and as required. Submit daily paper work.
+ Maintain adequate fuel and other fluids in your equipment to ensure completion of your run.
+ Perform minor maintenance of equipment as directed.
+ Be available to drive all Coarc routes as directed .
+ Participate in in-house and outside trainings as required. Maintain all required certifications on an annual basis.
