GENERAL DUTIES
- Under supervision, test, maintains, repairs and replaces various types of thermostats and related equipment used for the control of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems; performs related work.
- Installs tubing, pipe and fittings in connection with various types of thermostats and related equipment used for the control of heating, ventilating and air conditioning.
- Checks existing control installations to determine nature and cause of trouble and makes necessary repairs and/or adjustments.
- Uses pneumatic and/or electrical devices to check control installations.
- Sets and calibrates thermostats on walls and fixtures.
- Requisitions parts as required.
- Supervises assigned personnel as required.
- Keeps work records.

The Buildings & Grounds Department is looking for a Thermostat Repairer to continue the repair, development and maintenance of the College’s Buildings and Grounds boiler plant equipment, Pneumatic systems and Lehman’s air system assets. The job duties include but not limited to:
-Manages all aspects ThermostatRepairer related duties of Buildings and Grounds Boiler Plant operations and related equipment, including daily operations and corrective and preventative maintenance and repairs, under the Supervision of the Sr Engineers, and Engineers.
- Test, maintains, repairs, and replaces various types of thermostats and related equipment used for the control of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, Under supervision.
-Repair, calibrate, and replace pneumatic receiver/controllers and associated devices.
-Repair, calibrate, and replace low voltage and pneumatic thermostat.
-Repair, replace and maintain air compressors, pressure regulators, air filters, relief valves and related devices.
-Maintains inventory of related parts, tools, supplies for the shop and central plant. Maintains records accordingly, under supervision.
-Liaise weekly with Siemens BMS service tech on their visitor to monitor, adjust and repair the Siemens BMS. Maintain the complaint book and verify that issues are resolved in a timelymaimer.
-Maintain and monitor all air systems: AHU's, VAV's CAV's RTU's CRAC units and FSD's
-Maintain FDNY C of F (A-35) Air Compressor and related additional C of F's requested by Lehman College
-Field experience with digital controls
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Five years of full-time satisfactory experience as a thermostat repairer acquired within the last ten years; OR
2. At least three years of experience as described in 1 above and either sufficient experience in the thermostat repairing field as a helper or apprentice, or sufficient training of a relevant nature acquired in an approved trade, technical or vocational high school to make up the equivalent of the remaining experience. Six months
of acceptable experience will be credited for each year of the above helper or apprenticeship experience or training.
COMPENSATION
Annual: $113,530
