    The Minnesota Department of Direct Care & Treatment is seeking dependable and enthusiastic individuals to join our agency as a Security Counselor at the Minnesota Sex Offender Program. This position will provide facility security and/or residential care to individuals within our program located in St. Peter.

     

    The **Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP)** is for individuals who have completed their prison sentences and are civilly committed by the courts and placed in sex offender treatment for an indeterminate period of time.

    Responsibilities of a Security Counselor include:

    + Providing informal counseling;

    + Implementing treatment plans;

    + Observing and documenting client behavior;

    + Encouraging client participation in program activities;

    + Providing security and verbal and/or physical crisis intervention.

     

    This announcement will be used to fill multiple permanent, full-time, part-time, and intermittent (on-call) vacancies within the Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP). Shifts may be day shift, evening shift or overnight shift.

    Minimum Qualifications

    To qualify, applicants must:

    + Have a HS diploma or GED;

    + Be at least 18 years of age;

    AND

    + At least ONE of the following in order to qualify for further consideration:

    + One or more years of full-time work experience in ANY field; OR

    + Two or more years of part-time work experience in ANY field
