Job Description

A major medical technology client is seeking a strategic and experienced Lead AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer/Architect to lead their cloud operations and site reliability engineering team. This position will drive the planning, implementation, and optimization of AWS-based SaaS platforms, with a focus on system reliability, automation, and platform scalability. The ideal candidate will bring deep AWS knowledge, a proven track record in SaaS environments, and the ability to lead a growing team through cloud transformation and modernization initiatives.

This individual will play a critical role in shaping how AWS is leveraged across the enterprise, helping guide product launches, supporting cloud-based R&D initiatives, and building reusable infrastructure frameworks. The ideal candidate will bring deep AWS expertise, strong understanding of SaaS technologies, and a background in DevOps or SRE principles. Its a strategy-heavy position, blending light hands-on work with technical architecture planning and cross-functional collaboration across engineering and operations.

Skills and Requirements

7+ years of experience in SRE, Cloud Operations, or related roles, including 2+ years directing strategic SRE initiatives and managing teams of 3 or more

Strong background in AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, EKS), with proven experience supporting and scaling SaaS platforms

Proven experience optimizing SaaS workloads and infrastructure performance on AWS

Demonstrated success leading AWS platform launches, cloud migrations, or major SaaS infrastructure rollouts

Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation

Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog (preferred), CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana

Deep understanding of SRE concepts including SLOs, SLIs, incident response, and root cause analysis Familiarity with multi-cloud architectures and environments

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, or serverless technologies

Healthcare or medical device industry experience null
