Job Summary and Qualifications
Supervises assigned design and construction projects for the hospital, including new construction, renovation, remediation, major repairs. Coordinates schedules, shutdowns, relocations, service interruptions, by working with contractors/Plant Operations staff and hospital staff. Maintains continuous communication with Directors, Managers, Supervisors regarding project planning schedules. Ensures a consistent quality of work is performed by all contracted vendors working at Wesley Medical Center. Provides consultation to hospital staff regarding design and construction matters for specific projects. Maintains a working knowledge of current Life Safety Code and other regulations that impact operations, design/construction, and patient/staff safety. Implements interim life safety measures as required. Coordinates all projects with the Safety Director and Security as necessary. Performs other related duties as required or assigned by senior management.
Required Registration, Licensure or Certification

Preferred Registration, Licensure or Certification
+ Hazardous waste training within six months of hire and renewal of subject matter annually
Required Education or Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Education or Experience
+ Post high school education in a related field
+ Managerial experience
+ Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible health care experience, preferably in a hospital
+ Advanced technical education
Required Knowledge and Skills
+ Is current and proficient on job -related knowledge, construction skills and industry changes
+ Hazardous Material and Waste training (supervision of individual will occur until training is achieved)
+ Proper management of satellite accumulation and storage containers
+ How to conduct adequate weekly inspection of hazardous waste storage
+ How to review and prepare a hazardous waste manifest and recordkeeping
+ Knowledgeable and responsible of Hazardous Waste Determinations
+ Knowledgeable and responsible for DOT shipping requirement
+ Knowledgeable of universal waste (U and P listed) along with D characteristic waste.
+ Knowledgeable and responsible for changes in the Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan
+ Demonstrates understanding of job relative to hospital operations
+ Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
+ Project management skills
+ Knowledge of life safety codes and building codes in health care facilities and health care technology
+ Knowledge of mechanical and electronic engineering and electrical systems
+ Human relations and communication skills
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
+ Experience with Outlook and CPCS Meditech
+ Knowledge of medical terminology and technology, budget preparation, laws and regulations related to hospital safety codes and accreditation, equipment management, construction management, emergency management
+ Effective verbal and written communication in order to communicate in a clear concise manner with staff, patients, physicians and the public
