Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direct supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant and/or Speech Pathologist assists with approved patient care within capabilities and skills. Job tasks and responsibilities include:

+ Assists during patient testing, evaluations, and complex procedures.

+ Assists with holding, lifting and positioning patients and equipment.

+ Cleans and sets up treatment areas and equipment.

+ Prepares patients for treatments.

+ Participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure appropriate interaction with all internal and external customers.

+ Transports patients to and from department,

+ Maintains supplies

+ Provides age and culturally appropriate care

+ Orients and mentors new staff members

+ Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Job qualifications include:

+ BLS Healthcare Provider

+ Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.

+ Previous experience in a patient care setting preferred.

+ Previous experience as a rehabilitation tech preferred.

+ Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
