Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a **Contract Manager 2** to join its team of qualified and diverse individuals supporting its Marine Systems Business Unit (BU) as an Operating Unit (OU) Contracts Manager for the Machinery Operating Unit. The successful candidate will be a direct report to the Marine Systems BU Director of Contracts, Pricing, and Property Management and will work closely on a day-to-day basis with the OU Program Managers/Directors, Business Managers, Operations Managers, Engineering Managers, and functional teams throughout the OU. The Machinery OU is a fast-paced OU with a robust backlog, focused on delivering propulsion and power generation capabilities to the United States Navy’s submarine and surface fleet.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the Machinery OU contracts’ portfolio delivering successful financial performance, risk mitigation, change management, and customer satisfaction. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for the direct supervision, management, and success of 6 contracts professionals.
As Manager, the selected candidate will also be required to provide objective-oriented direction utilizing management guidelines, general policies, and maintain a strong level of engagement, while dynamically leading, inspiring, motivating and developing a team of contract professionals.
Strong preference will be given to candidates willing to relocate to Sunnyvale, CA. Second preference will be afforded to candidates working on-site from one of Northrop’s West-coast-based facilities. Consideration will be giving to exceptional candidates working on-site at other Northrop locations throughout the country. In all instances, candidates will be expected to be on-site at a Northrop facility full time. If not working in Sunnyvale, the candidate will be expected to travel 25% of the time, including visits to Sunnyvale and customer locations. Relocation assistance may be available to candidates willing to relocate to Sunnyvale, CA.
What You Will Get To Do:
_The Contract Administrator Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:_
+ Abide by the highest ethical standards for personal conduct and provide the requisite leadership to ensure compliance with Northrop Grumman ethical standards and requirements, and company policies and procedures.
+ Demonstrating commitment and energy to meet customer needs with the ability to provide concise and effective communication through presentation, written documentation or email format with different levels of Management is key.
+ Regularly and proactively interfacing and collaborating with program, technical and operations organizations in order to provide guidance and direction based upon the requirements of the tender and resulting contracts.
+ Making decisions in a timely manner, offering guidance and working cooperatively with a multitude of organizations ranging from technical, program, finance, supply chain, export and security.
+ Serving as a role model for diversity and inclusion through seeking out and including diverse opinions and perspectives, including the ability to solve complex problems by actively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sources.
+ Building strong customer intimacy and employee engagement to assist with growing this important business area.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
+ BS/BA in Business, Finance, or related discipline with a minimum of 7+ years of industry related experience in contract administration/management – OR – a master’s degree in BS/BA in Business, Finance, or related discipline with a minimum of 5+ years of industry related experience as outlined above.
+ ·3 year in a formal people leadership role
+ Experience recruiting, training, and retaining new employees at all skill levels, undertaking succession planning, supporting professional development, and performance management to maintain a healthy talent pipeline.
+ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the experience in using them in informing, presenting, and negotiating to all levels of management.
+ Experience solving complex problems by proactively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sources. Experience conducting daily operations in a proactive and forward-looking manner.
+ Experience planning and executing successful contract negotiations and achieving targeted profit rates as well as favorable terms and conditions to assist in meeting profit and cash goals
+ Knowledge and understanding of pricing principles and FAR/DFARS as well as associated Federal Contracting regulations.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ JD or MBA
+ Familiarity with Northrop Grumman Contracts processes and procedures.
+ Familiarity with SAP based systems.
+ Must be willing to travel 25% of time as required to support our major programs.
+ Active DoD Secret level security clearance.
+ NCMA Certification (CPCM, CFCM and/or CCCM)
+ Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $193,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
