Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Admissions Coordinator to join our team in San Diego, California. In this role, you will be responsible for managing patient scheduling, ensuring a seamless intake process, and maintaining effective communication with patients, providers, and internal teams. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an opportunity to contribute to the care of first responder patients while working in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
• Process referrals for first responder patients from multiple sources, ensuring timely follow-up.
• Submit and track authorization requests, keeping all necessary parties informed of progress.
• Monitor and manage the status of pending patient reports to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
• Enter patient information with precision into the electronic medical records system.
• Maintain consistent communication with providers, referral sources, insurance adjusters, and internal teams to update them on treatment progress.
• Prepare and oversee new patient intake packets, ensuring all required documents are completed before the initial appointment.
• Review and adjust provider schedules regularly to accommodate new patient appointments promptly.
• Coordinate patient entry into Intensive Outpatient Programs by collaborating with patients, providers, case managers, and treatment facilities.
• Handle additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the team. Requirements • High school diploma required; an associate degree or higher in healthcare administration, business, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare scheduling or administrative roles, with a preference for behavioral health or first responder patient care experience.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records systems, such as Dentrix Dental Software.
• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience answering inbound calls and handling patient inquiries.
• Familiarity with authorization processes and documentation requirements. TalentMatch®
