Job Summary:
The Cybersecurity Specialist is responsible for protecting an organization’s information systems from cyber threats. This role involves identifying vulnerabilities, monitoring network activity, implementing security protocols, and responding to incidents. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in network and information security, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Monitor networks and systems for security breaches and investigate incidents.
+ Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
+ Implement and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection.
+ Develop, document, and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.
+ Respond to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
+ Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS, NIST, GDPR).
+ Assist in the design and implementation of secure network architectures and cloud solutions.
+ Provide security training and awareness to employees and technical teams.
+ Perform risk assessments and security audits for internal systems and third-party vendors.
+ Keep up with the latest security threats, trends, and technology solutions.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
+ Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a cybersecurity or information security role.
+ Certifications (preferred): CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, CISM, GIAC, or similar.
Technical Skills:
+ Proficiency in security tools (e.g., Wireshark, Metasploit, Nessus, Splunk).
+ Experience with SIEM systems, firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection solutions.
+ Strong knowledge of OS security (Windows, Linux), network protocols, and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
+ Understanding of encryption technologies, identity and access management (IAM), and multifactor authentication (MFA).
+ Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Soft Skills:
+ Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
+ High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
