Description
Robert Half is seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract opportunity with one of our valued clients. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys leveraging their expertise to solve complex financial challenges. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate accounting and reporting, driving compliance, and supporting business success.
Responsibilities
+ Manage month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and reviewing general ledger activity.
+ Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to prepare accurate financial statements in compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
+ Reconcile complex accounts, including balance sheet accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
+ Lead and support audits by preparing necessary schedules and ensuring documentation aligns with audit requirements.
+ Assist in creating, implementing, and maintaining robust internal controls and accounting policies.
+ Analyze and interpret financial data to inform business decision-making.
+ Provide mentorship and training to junior accounting staff as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
+ Experience: 4+ years of hands-on accounting experience; public accounting experience is a plus.
+ Certifications: CPA preferred but not required.
+ Extensive knowledge of GAAP (or IFRS) and demonstrated ability to handle complex accounting functions.
+ Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, v-lookups).
+ Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
+ Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
