    Description

    We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations and maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, organized, and possess strong problem-solving skills. You will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health of the organization, supporting both leadership and operational teams with vital insights and reports.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Maintain Financial Records: Accurately record all financial transactions using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) and keep financial records up to date.

    + Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the invoicing process, track outstanding payments, verify incoming payments, and process vendor bills and payments.

    + Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations for all accounts, including bank, credit card, and online payment platforms.

    + Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing by ensuring employee hours and deductions are accurately recorded.

    + Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, and present insights to management as needed.

    + Expense Tracking: Monitor company expenses and oversee proper classification to ensure budget adherence and efficient spending.

    + Tax Preparation Support: Collaborate with external tax professionals by providing necessary documentation and ensuring accurate tax filings.

    + Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies regarding financial reporting and procedures.

    + Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements for financial processes and accounting systems to maximize efficiency.

    + Assist Leadership: Provide clear and timely updates about the financial health of the company, including flagging concerns or anomalies.

    Requirements

    Skills and Qualifications

     

    + Experience: Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accountant, or in a similar financial role (3+ years preferred).

    + Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required).

    + Technology Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

    + Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and analytical skills with a meticulous approach to financial data.

    + Knowledge of Accounting Principles: Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

    + Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to work collaboratively with teams and external vendors.

    + Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot discrepancies and resolve financial inconsistencies efficiently.

    + Time Management: Ability to prioritize workloads and meet strict deadlines.

    + Confidentiality: Maintain complete confidentiality regarding all financial matters.
