Description We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team in Von Ormy, Texas. This Contract-to-permanent position offers the opportunity to contribute to the accurate and efficient processing of payroll using Paylocity, while ensuring compliance with legal and company standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll administration and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality while delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities:
• Process payroll cycles, including bi-weekly, weekly, or monthly schedules, using Paylocity to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Verify and reconcile timekeeping records, addressing any discrepancies with managers or supervisors.
• Update and maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports, earnings summaries, and other documentation for review by the Controller.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations, as well as internal company policies.
• Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and timekeeping issues.
• Assist in preparing year-end tax documents, such as W-2s and 1099 forms, using Paylocity.
• Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure the accurate processing of benefits and deductions.
• Provide payroll-related data and documentation for internal and external audits as needed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all payroll information and records. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in payroll processing, specifically using Paylocity.
• Solid understanding of payroll laws, regulations, tax compliance, and standard practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage time effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to address payroll-related queries.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive payroll information with discretion and integrity.
• Preferred qualifications include an Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field, as well as experience in processing multi-state payroll.
