Description We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will manage critical financial tasks, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable and receivable while maintaining compliance with company standards. This position is based in New York, New York, and offers an opportunity to contribute to the success of an architecture firm.
Responsibilities:
• Process and code invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payment of accounts payable, including vendor and subcontractor transactions.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and apply cash payments to appropriate accounts.
• Conduct light collections to follow up on outstanding balances and improve cash flow.
• Reconcile bank accounts regularly, ensuring accurate record-keeping and resolving discrepancies.
• Manage account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial data.
• Support month-end close procedures by preparing necessary financial reports and documentation.
• Utilize Deltek software to manage financial processes and ensure data accuracy.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance with industry standards. Requirements • Proven experience in bookkeeping, with a focus on accounts payable and receivable.
• Proficiency in Deltek software is required.
• Strong understanding of account reconciliations and bank reconciliation processes.
• Familiarity with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform cash applications and manage AR aging.
• Experience in the architecture industry is highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and vendors.
