    Position Summary:

    The Accounts Payable Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports. Additionally, this role will provide limited but critical oversight of payroll operations. This is a hands-on role that requires strong analytical skills, a proactive approach to process improvement, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, scaling environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Accounts Payable (Primary Function)

     

    + Manage the end-to-end accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliation.

    + Oversee a small AP team (if applicable), providing mentorship, training, and performance feedback.

    + Maintain vendor relationships and resolve billing discrepancies or payment issues.

    + Review and improve AP policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.

    + Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger monthly.

    + Assist with month-end close activities including accruals and reporting.

     

    Payroll Oversight (Secondary Function)

     

    + Manage a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.

    + Review payroll reports for accuracy and compliance.

    + Ensure proper documentation and reconciliation of payroll-related entries.

    + Support internal audits and compliance with payroll regulations and reporting requirements.

     

    Cross-Functional & Strategic

     

    + Work with procurement, HR, and finance teams to align processes and improve internal workflows.

    + Participate in system implementations or upgrades related to AP or payroll modules.

    + Provide reporting and insights to management on AP metrics and cash flow impact.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

    + 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.

    + Experience with payroll processes or coordination, preferably in a growing company.

    + Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AP best practices.

    + Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks) and Excel proficiency.

    + Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

    + Ability to communicate effectively across departments and with external vendors.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field highly preferred.

    + 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.

    + Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AP best practices.

    + Familiarity with ERP systems and Excel proficiency.

    + Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
