Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee and manage critical accounting and financial operations at our office in Warrenton, Virginia. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes, compliance with government contracting standards, and the generation of timely financial reports. This role requires a strong background in accounting for government contractors and expertise in payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile bank accounts and accounting system balances on a monthly basis to ensure accurate month-end close processes.

• Oversee and manage payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and compliant execution.

• Coordinate time reports, revenue recognition, cost accounting, and expense reporting in alignment with contract types and organizational guidelines.

• Prepare and issue comprehensive financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and budget variance analyses, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

• Conduct quarterly budget reviews and provide detailed business forecasts for strategic planning purposes.

• Manage 401(k) contributions and ensure accurate and timely reporting in compliance with regulations.

• Develop and submit annual budgets, including provisional billing rates, to meet organizational requirements.

• Provide detailed and accurate accounting records to tax professionals for corporate tax filings.

• Implement and monitor financial efficiency initiatives to optimize cost management and operational performance. Requirements

• 10+ years of experience, prior govcon experience

• Strong expertise in DCAA audits and leading annual budget review

• CPA, highly preferred

• Proven experience in accounting operations for U.S. government contractors, including accounts payable, receivable, revenue recognition, and incurred cost audits.

• Advanced knowledge of enterprise accounting and payroll tools such as Deltek, PayChex, or similar systems.

• Experience in managing or supervising teams directly or indirectly in a detail-oriented environment.
