Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Wichita, Kansas, on a contract basis. This role involves overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and driving accurate financial reporting in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in accounting systems and processes, along with a solid understanding of manufacturing variances.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliation.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
• Monitor manufacturing variances and provide detailed analysis to support operational efficiency.
• Lead internal auditing processes to ensure accuracy and compliance across financial operations.
• Utilize Oracle 12c and other accounting software systems to streamline workflows and improve reporting capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on financial goals and strategies.
• Supervise the preparation and submission of tax filings and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Implement and maintain robust controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
• Develop and mentor accounting team members to enhance their skills and performance.
• Drive process improvements to optimize efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller or similar financial leadership role.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Oracle 12c and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting principles.
• Experience in financial reporting and account reconciliation within a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to analyze and interpret manufacturing variances to support operational decisions.
• Familiarity with internal auditing practices and regulatory compliance standards.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
