Description We are looking for a dedicated Medical Front Desk Specialist to join our team in Bedford, Massachusetts. This is an onsite, Contract-to-Permanent position at a pediatric clinic specializing in speech and feeding therapy for children. If you have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach, this role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
• Welcome patients and families, ensuring a positive first impression and providing assistance with any inquiries.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Coordinate appointments and manage schedules to optimize clinic operations.
• Communicate professionally with therapists, parents, and caregivers to address concerns and provide updates.
• Learn and apply insurance terminology to assist in patient billing and verification processes.
• Handle inbound calls, providing information and directing queries appropriately.
• Work collaboratively with other staff members to support various administrative tasks as needed.
• Ensure compliance with clinic policies and maintain a high level of professionalism when handling sensitive information.
• Utilize Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, for documentation and communication.
• Assist with office organization and contribute to a smooth workflow in a fast-paced environment. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a front desk or administrative role, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact sensitively with patients and families, including those with special needs.
• Proficiency in EHR systems and familiarity with software such as Allscripts, Cerner, or Dentrix.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
• Understanding of medical confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
