• Payroll Manager - Part-Time

    Description

    We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager (Part-Time 20-30 hours per week) to join our team in Apple Valley, Minnesota. In this long-term contract role, you will oversee payroll operations for U.S. and Canadian employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and provincial tax regulations. This position requires a commitment to accuracy, excellent customer service, and a proactive approach to payroll management.

    Responsibilities:

    • Process and audit payroll for U.S. and Canadian employees, including regular, bonus, and ad hoc payrolls, as well as tax reporting, retirement contributions, and garnishments.

    • Collaborate with tax filing and garnishment services to monitor compliance, submit adjustments, and establish new tax jurisdictions.

    • Generate payroll registers and prepare pre- and post-payroll reports to ensure accurate recordkeeping.

    • Partner with Human Resources and Total Rewards teams to maintain accurate benefit deductions, leave management, and personnel changes in systems such as Workday and ADP Workforce Now.

    • Handle updates for employee records, including pay changes, job changes, W-4s, direct deposits, and other personnel data.

    • Troubleshoot and maintain timekeeping systems, oversee time clock functionality, and review and approve employee timesheets.

    • Support year-end reporting processes, including W-2s, 1094-C, 1095-C, and Canadian T4 forms.

    • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and maintain confidentiality when managing sensitive employee information.

     

    Requirements • At least 10 years of experience in payroll processing, including multi-state payroll.

     

    • Strong understanding of U.S. and Canadian payroll and tax regulations.

    • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now is required.

    • Certified Payroll designation (CPP) is preferred.

    • Ability to handle sensitive data with attention to detail and maintain strict confidentiality.

    • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

    • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

    • Familiarity with year-end payroll reconciliation and reporting processes.
