    *Position Summary:*

     

    The primary purpose of the Specimen Processor is to receive, process, and distribute specimens to respective departments for testing and to place, answer and transfer telephone calls as necessary. Specimen Processor performs the demographic entry and accurate quick registration (quick reg) of patient data into the Hospital computer system for billing purposes. Compliance to all lab practices involving safety, data entry, batching, aliquotting, labeling, scanning and registration are required.

    *Minimum Qualifications:*

    *Required:*High school graduate or equivalent with good typing and computer skills and a Medical Terminology background. Fast, accurate typing, computer data entry experience.

    *Preferred:*1 year of experience in a clinical office setting or other healthcare-related facility. In lieu of experience, consider coursework with an understanding of Medical Terminology.
