Posting Summary
Provide technical assistance and support activities for a laboratory studying the role of ion channels and calcium signaling in altered vascular function and impaired neurovascular coupling associated with hyperaldosteronemia (the condition elevated plasma aldosterone levels) and/or dementia. Perform biochemical, physiological, molecular and behavior assays, maintain multi-strain transgenic and conventional animal colonies. Use judgment in prioritizing individual work tasks and decisions regarding work methods within the framework of established guidelines; prepare support materials, solutions, equipment, and instrumentation. Assist in the planning, designing, development, and troubleshooting of protocols, research techniques, and experiments. Develop standard laboratory operating and training procedures. Collect, compile, and assist in analyzing research data. Maintain laboratory chemical, animal, and equipment inventories and purchases as needed. Develop standard laboratory operating and training procedures; maintain research results, protocols, methods, compliance with chemical safety regulations, and other documentation. Maintain day-to-day functions of running the lab as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field and one to three years experience in a laboratory environment that includes experience with molecular biology techniques and mammalian cell culture required.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience working with animals highly desirable.

We strongly encourage individuals with extensive experience with assays using freshly isolated living vascular tissues and intact animals to apply.
Anticipated Pay Range $21.50/hour - $25.00/hour
