    Job Description

    There is an open position for a CNC Programmer with Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense, located in Simsbury, CT.

     

    The CNC Programmer is responsible for designing fixtures and programming precision-machined parts. The position would be responsible for multiple CNC machines including 5 and 3 axis milling machines, as well as 4 and 2 axis lathes. Scope of work is mostly prototyping as this is a non-production shop.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Complete part programs and fixture design using Mastercam software.

    • Identifying tools needed with complete tool list and setup sheet.

    • Working at the machine with machinists to run first piece and debug issues.

    • Using proper feed, speed, and other cutting parameters based on work piece materials such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel.

    • Revising programs as needed based on engineering or production required changes.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience with Mastercam

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in CNC programming and operation

    • 5 axis programming experience a plus

    • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints

    • General knowledge of GD&T, and inspection tools

    • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Be able to communicate technical instructions

    • Minimum High school education or equivalent.

    • Must be able to meet all ITAR and BATFE background requirements
