Strategy & Business Development Manager

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Strategy & Business Development Manager , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact on the Automotive Aftermarket businesses by:

+ Conduct ing thorough market research to identify , assess, and prioritize new platform and adjacent market investment opportunities that align with 3M's strategic goals

+ Establishing comprehensive business cases and implementation plans for inorganic commercial partnerships or investments that enhance 3M’s value proposition to customers, including financial analysis, risk assessment, and strategic fit

+ Overseeing the execution of business development initiatives in collaboration with sales, marketing, and R&D teams (including strategic NPI) to ensure alignment and successful implementation

+ Serving as the primary point of contact between Corporate Development, 3M Ventures, SIBG Strategy, and external consultants/investment banks to facilitate communication and coordination of business development activities ​

+ Supporting internal business development activities and strategic priorities as needed

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)

+ Five (5) combined years of experience in sales, finance, channel, marketing, strategy and/or business development in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

+ MBA

+ Demonstrated results in business development and inorganic growth activities

+ Experience working with global teams and across functions, geographies and time zones

+ Customer focused thinking and proven success gathering market and customer insights

+ Strong analytical skills with ability to think strategically and to navigate complex situations

+ Clear demonstration of innovation, a passion to win and willingness to challenge the status quo

+ Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

Work location:

+ Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require at 3 days in St Paul office per week)

Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $188,251 - $230,084, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
