Scope of Job
Responsible for coordinating community and business partnerships that enhance UTRGV’s brand visibility and the creation of mutually beneficial collaborations to provide value-added experiences for students, faculty, and staff and strengthen the institution’s presence within the Rio Grande Valley and beyond in collaboration with multiple internal department and external stakeholders.
Description of Duties
+ Develops, manages and supports strategic partnerships with businesses, organizations, and chambers of commerce to enhance UTRGV’s brand and community presence.
+ Collaborates with the Office of Human Resources to promote the university-wide discount program and supports the securing of exclusive deals with local restaurants, retailers, and service providers for students, faculty, and staff.
+ Collaborates with the office of Development, for the coordination and facilitation of sponsorship and partnership opportunities for key campus events, such as securing food donations or vendor participation for student engagement initiatives like the first day of school.
+ Responsible for coordinating with retailers and corporate partners to expand the availability of UTRGV -branded merchandise in stores across the region.
+ Collaborates with Development and Athletics departments to organize and coordinate events for partnership activation and new sponsorships.
+ Represents UTRGV at external events, chamber meetings, and business association gatherings to cultivate and maintain relationships that align with the university’s strategic goals.
+ Collaborates with internal areas such as Student Life, Athletics, and Alumni Relations and Office of Human Resources to ensure that external partnerships bring direct benefits to the campus community.
+ Coordinates marketing activations with external partners that align with UTRGV’s brand strategy and help drive engagement and communicates to respective areas.
+ Monitors and evaluates partnership effectiveness with UMC and evaluates for ensuring that partnerships continue to align with UTRGV’s brand.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field. from an accredited university.

Required Experience
Three (3) years of experience in business development, community relations, partnership management, or marketing.
Preferred Experience
Experience in sponsorships, promotions, or retail marketing.
Equipment
Use of standard office equipment.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. Some travel and weekend work is required. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

Exceptional planning and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong networking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Knowledge of the Rio Grande Valley business landscape and key stakeholders. Knowledge of digital marketing, influencer marketing and brand collaboration. Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
