_Activities Manager_** **_– East Pavilion at Southampton Memorial Hospital_

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to)

+ Responsible for managing all recreational therapy programs for residents and Residents with dementia/Alzheimer’s with support of Activities Coordinator.

+ Manage and oversee group activities that meet the physical, spiritual, cognitive, and psychosocial needs of the residents with support of Activities Coordinator.

+ Oversee and manage Activities Coordinator.

+ Complete 1:1 activities and document independent activities for residents who wish not to attend group programming.

+ Evaluate activity effectiveness and residents’ responses in meeting individualized goals.

+ Efficiently create neighborhood activity calendars and distribute them to residents, families, and staff.

+ Oversee decorations for holidays/activities and update calendar boards as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience

+ Eligibility for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional by a recognized accrediting body (on/after 10/1/1990) or

+ 2 years of experience in a full-time, therapeutic program (social or recreational) within the last 5 years or

+ The individual is a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) or OT assistant or

+ Has completed a State-approved training course
