Job Title: CAD Designer

Type: Contract

Compensation: $40 - $55 hourly

Contractor Work Model: Onsite

Job Summary: Assist in providing quality P&ID’s from engineering sketches for internal use and to be issued to the client. Assist in providing mechanical design and detail drawings required for use in shop fabrication as directed by supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (scope):

+ Gather information required for design & drafting

+ Specifications

+ Data sheets

+ Outside vendor documents

+ Review of 3D model if available

+ Adhere to Document Management System for drawing numbering, editing and issuing

+ 3D modeling of equipment

+ Use of AutoCAD & SmartPlant P&ID and SmartPlant Instrumentation software

+ Prepare quality SmartPlant P&ID’s and Instrumentation schematics

+ Prepare quality Process Flow Diagrams

+ Prepare detailed shop fabrication drawings

Qualifications needed:

+ Working knowledge of AutoCAD

+ Working knowledge of fabrication drawing layouts

+ Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards

+ Knowledge of SmartPlant P&ID and SmartPlant Instrumentation and SmartPlant 3D a plus

+ Knowledge of Inventor a plus

+ Ability to work independently and proceed with objectives with supervision

+ Ability to interface with other disciplines

Education and/or Experience:

+ An Associate Degree, or 2 years of college coursework (or 5 years job related experience)

+ 3-5 years related experience

+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
