WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
As a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) you will use your experience in flow cytometry to perform advanced lab testing in our National Neutrophil lab. You will be performing advanced lab testing for neutrophils, antigens and antibodies; you will perform serological testing, platelet testing assays; interpret results to provide diagnostic tools for patient care.
Perform advanced manufacturing and processing procedures, as applicable. Adhere to explicit standard operating procedures and interpret test results in accordance with the applicable regulatory requirements.
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):
+ Manage receipt, coordination, shipment and transport of samples. Assist in daily workflow of patient and work. Documents supply and equipment problems.
+ Manage reagent inventory including ordering, receiving, inspecting and preparing reagents.Perform and interpret basic and complex donor and/or patient testing procedures and complete required quality control, as appropriate to state and federal regulations.
+ Recognize testing irregularities, identify the cause, determine the solution and resolve the problem.
+ Consult and communicate with staff at other medical facilities, to provide diagnostic information. Perform labeling and verification of blood products.
+ Perform maintence, repair and validation of laboratory equipment and software maintenance.Perform duties associated with document development and management.
+ Maintain, edit and review computer and manual records to assure accurate record keeping. Maintain accurate, legible and complete records.
+ May perform manufacturing duties associated with special blood products, if applicable.Perform duties associated with document management. Adhere to procedures and good manufacturing practices (GMP).Perform other related duties as necessary.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):
+ **Licensure: Must be an MT/MLS**
+ Education: 4-year college degree
+ Experience in Flow CytometryExperience: 3 years of laboratory experience (combination of education and experience may suffice with experience in Flow Cytometry
+ Good computer skills; the ability to navigate and learn technology
+ Good oral and written communication skills
Pay Information** **_: $37 to $49/hour, depending on relevant experience_
_Schedule: Monday through Friday; every other Monday or Friday off. Average 36 hours per week, per pay period._
Essential Functions/Physical Requirements: Depending on work assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions.
