    Job Title: Manager, Transmission and Interconnection (Part-Time - 100% Remote)

    Job Description

    Support the development of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across various U.S. markets by managing interconnection strategies. Collaborate with multiple interconnection vendors to improve timelines and contract execution. Provide strategic input on queue positioning, study interpretation, and grid integration. Monitor and advise on transmission planning and congestion risks. Assist in launching edge compute strategies by supporting large load studies nationwide. Act as a liaison between technical vendors and internal commercial teams, focusing on oversight and strategy.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage interconnection strategy for BESS development across multiple U.S. markets.

    + Collaborate with 2–3 interconnection vendors to enhance timelines and contract execution.

    + Provide strategic input on queue positioning, study interpretation, and grid integration.

    + Monitor and advise on transmission planning and congestion risks.

    + Support the launch of edge compute strategy by aiding large load studies across the country.

    + Bridge the gap between technical vendors and internal commercial teams.

    Essential Skills

    + Deep experience with BESS interconnection across multiple U.S. markets.

    + Familiarity with grid operator processes (e.g., CAISO, PJM, MISO, NISO).

    + Ability to interpret studies and advise on queue strategy and project timelines.

    + Strong communication skills to collaborate with vendors and internal teams.

    + Experience from a utility or engineering firm, with a commercial mindset.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Comfortable with commercial-side strategy without full modeling data.

    + Experience with utilities or engineering firms preferred.

    + Familiarity with developer environments is a plus.

    + Ability to manage a large portfolio of projects in various development phases.

    Work Environment

    This is a remote, U.S.-based position with flexible, part-time hours (10–20 hours/week). The role involves strategic oversight, not hands-on engineering or application submission. Occasional team meetups may be required, fostering a collaborative environment with internal teams and external vendors. This opportunity allows you to work on a national scale, shaping energy storage and digital infrastructure strategy, with the chance to be part of a team managing over 40 projects and 80 GW of capacity.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
