The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the company's food safety and quality programs, ensuring compliance with HACCP, SQF, FDA, USDA, and other relevant industry standards. This role plays a critical part in monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, and leading the QA team to uphold the highest standards in the manufacturing of powdered food products.
Responsibilities
+ Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP and SQF programs to ensure food safety and regulatory compliance.
+ Conduct routine audits, inspections, and verification activities to ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
+ Monitor and analyze product quality data to identify trends, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Supervise the QA team, providing training and guidance on food safety protocols, GMPs, and quality assurance procedures.
+ Work closely with production teams to ensure proper sanitation, allergen control, and environmental monitoring practices.
+ Oversee documentation and record-keeping to maintain compliance with SQF certification and regulatory agencies.
+ Investigate customer complaints related to product quality and implement corrective actions.
+ Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring proper preparation and follow-up on audit findings.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product development, troubleshooting, and process enhancements.
+ Ensure raw materials and finished products meet specifications through testing, sampling, and analysis.
+ Maintain knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to enhance food safety programs.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
+ Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing QA/QC, preferably in powdered food products.
+ Strong understanding of HACCP, SQF, GMP, FDA, USDA, and other regulatory requirements.
+ Experience leading audits and managing food safety certification programs.
+ Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot quality issues, and develop corrective/preventive actions.
+ Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality management software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in ensuring compliance with HACCP, SQF, FDA, USDA, and other relevant industry standards.
Work Environment
This role involves working in a food manufacturing environment where adherence to safety protocols and attention to detail are paramount. The position requires collaboration with various departments and regular engagement in audits and inspections. The dress code includes wearing appropriate safety gear as required in a food production setting.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
