    We are seeking a professional like you to support the control systems (PLC, Auto Guided Vehicles, etc.) at our Sparta, TN facility. Your main responsibility will be to work with Process Engineers and Operators to provide process control that meets their needs and makes their jobs safe and efficient. You will maintain control systems to achieve functionality and safety obligations and maximize system capability. This includes PLC hardware and software, maintenance and improvements, automation for capital projects, membership on key control systems related teams, and coordination of concepts with Production. Excellent communication and strong team-working skills will be key for success in this position.

     

    As a Controls Engineer, you create chemistry by...

     

    + Leveraging your experience in specialty chemical automation, you will provide expert support for the control systems as needed across the plant.

    + Your solid programming software knowledge will be essential as you utilize various types of PLC equipment and software during your daily work.

    + Demonstrating your robust technical knowledge, you will perform advanced control and graphic configuration on systems across the plant.

    + Successfully engaging across the plant, you will coordinate with Operations to implement process improvement, troubleshooting, and periodic health checks of installed base control systems.

    + Your experience providing technical guidance will be a valued asset as you provide expertise as a resource in Advanced Process Control.

    + Understanding plant specific requirements and control systems, you will provide technical expertise for other systems and communications protocols used onsite such as iFix Collector Historian and AspenTech, networking and I/O.

     

    If you...

     

    + Possess a Bachelor’s degree in chemical, electrical or mechatronics engineering

    + Have minimum of 3 years of experience in controls systems in an industrial/manufacturing environment

    + Have a strong understanding of ethernet based networking and SCADA this would be preferred.

    + Have a strong understanding of power distribution, switching plans and NFPA 70e this would be desirable.

    + Are able to work independently under broad goals and objectives with minimal guidance. Also possess strong verbal and written communication skills

    + Have a strong understanding of ladder logic and function block programming this would be a plus.

    + Are proficient with SAP PPM, MS Office, and other CMMS this would be highly desirable.
