Job Title: Interior Designer
Job Description
Join our dynamic Interiors team where you will have the opportunity to collaborate with integrated design teams on a variety of projects. This role focuses on education project types, allowing team members to adapt to diverse design priorities, styles, and project delivery methods.
Responsibilities
+ Collect client space requirements and develop plan layouts with the project team.
+ Develop design concepts, select color/finish materials, and choose furniture for projects of varying sizes and complexity.
+ Work with the project team on the development and documentation of design solutions.
+ Coordinate and specify interior furniture.
+ Assist in preparing design presentation materials and renderings.
+ Participate in the development of construction documents using Revit.
+ Attend client/project interviews as required.
+ Manage the interior design portion of a project, preparing design and construction documents with a clear understanding of client needs and project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.
+ Stay current with the latest design trends, architectural/design products, and materials.
+ Some travel may be required.
+ Regularly communicate with clients to verify design requirements, provide progress reviews, and deliver final presentations.
+ Work with Project Managers to confirm objectives and formulate options with the client; prepare and conduct design and technical presentations for the team and/or clients.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in interior design.
+ 5 – 8 years of specific K-12 and/or higher education design experience.
+ NCIDQ certificate holder and CID preferred.
+ Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and other design software with an emphasis on 3D presentation.
+ Good knowledge of interior design principles, practices, and concepts.
+ Problem-solving skills and adaptability to changes in work requests or environment.
+ Proven organization and time management skills with detail orientation and multi-tasking ability.
+ Experience with Revit, Construction Documents, and knowledge of Building Construction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in Housing or Multi-Family housing projects.
+ Proven technical with Revit, including mentoring designers and drafters.
+ Experience in healthcare, industrial, and retail projects is beneficial.
+ Previous role as a Project Architect or Project Manager is advantageous.
+ 10+ years of work experience in Commercial Architecture/Interiors.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work environment, with four days in the office and one remote day (Fridays). The team specializes in Senior Housing and Multi-Family work while also collaborating with other studios focusing on Education, Healthcare, Industrial, and Retail projects. The work environment is supportive of setting up remote consultants for success.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
