Job Title: Lab Technician IIJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician II to join our team. This role involves crucial laboratory tasks and supports the efficient operation of our pathology lab.

Responsibilities

+ Accessioning specimens with accuracy and precision.

+ Preparing slide trays for examination.

+ Filing blocks and slides systematically.

+ Assisting with lab organization and maintenance.

+ Preparing solutions and recycling chemicals responsibly.

+ Performing tissue embedding after receiving proper training.

+ Assisting with Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) slide preparation.

+ Cleaning lab equipment and tools to ensure a sterile environment.

+ Stocking lab supplies and performing inventory checks.

+ Adhering to compliance standards and completing necessary training.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in biology and chemistry.

+ Experience working in a laboratory, preferably within the medical field.

+ Understanding of medical laboratory processes and terminology.

+ Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Sciences such as Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Laboratory Science, or Environmental Science.

+ Six months of laboratory experience within the healthcare industry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High School Diploma required.

+ Previous lab experience preferred.

+ Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

+ Ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute preferred.

+ Attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.

Work Environment

The position is based in a pathology lab, operating Monday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The schedule may rotate to include weekends depending on business needs. This environment offers the opportunity to gain hours and experience to qualify for the HT or ASCP Exam within a year of employment. Successful certification results in a pay increase and opportunities for advancement based on performance reviews, including Tech II, Tech III, and Team Lead levels.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.25/hr.
