Job Title: Welder

Job Description

Join our team as a Welder where you will assemble and weld mechanical components and sub-assemblies. You will inspect products to ensure they comply with engineering drawings and meet tolerances. You will use a wire welder, plasma cutter, and standard shop tools to complete tasks in accordance with contract specifications, engineering drawings, or standard procedures. Your work will adhere to the company’s policies and quality system procedures.

Responsibilities

+ Interpret technical drawings and plans to understand the specifications of the final product.

+ Choose appropriate materials and prepare them for fabrication, including cutting, measuring, and cleaning.

+ Perform MIG, TIG, stick welding, or other methods; grind and polish finished products as needed.

+ Use tools such as saws, plasma cutters, torches, or machines to cut and shape materials accurately.

+ Inspect fabricated components for accuracy, defects, and compliance with standards.

+ Maintain and troubleshoot fabrication tools and machinery to ensure efficient operation.

+ Follow all safety protocols and wear proper protective equipment while working.

+ Work closely with engineers, designers, and tradespeople to ensure the finished product meets requirements.

+ Utilize cranes and forklifts during daily operations.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in fabrication and blueprint interpretation.

+ Experience with measuring tools, MIG welding, and TIG welding.

+ Ability to measure, read specifications, and interpret prints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with plasma cutting, torch cutting, and quality inspection.

+ Passion for welding, even if primarily as a hobby.

+ TIG welding preferred but strong skills in other areas considered.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Yorktown, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
