Now Hiring: Material Management Associate

Job Description

The Material Management Associate oversees the storage, control, and distribution of materials and supplies necessary for production or operations. This associate will also be responsible for preparing, packaging, and coordinating the shipment of goods promptly and accurately.

Responsibilities

+ Receive, inspect, and store all incoming ground, freight, and vendor-delivered shipment items.

+ Assign warehouse locations, verifying part numbers, quantities, and serviceability.

+ Select and deliver items for production work orders and fill out work order pick sheets.

+ Assist with periodic/annual inventories, counting, and recording materials.

+ Convey materials to or from storage or work sites to designated areas using hand trucks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment.

+ Prepare items for shipment and complete pick sheets and shipment quality control checklists where applicable.

+ Process outgoing orders ensuring items are correctly selected, inspected, packaged, weighed, and shipped per customer shipping instructions.

+ Ensure required shipment documents, manuals, and material safety data sheets are correct and freighter labels and other required labels are included in and on shipments.

+ Work closely with the warehouse, customer service, and production teams to ensure smooth operations.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in crate building and assembly.

+ Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.

+ Ability to operate a forklift a plus.

+ Skill in using measuring tools and tape measures.

+ General labor and material handling experience.

+ Capability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 150 pounds with assistance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Familiarity with using a sit-down forklift 20% of the time.

+ Experience in building crates to ship pump packages.

+ Skills in measuring, cutting, and building.

+ Experience in shipping and receiving items.

+ Experience in inventory management.

Work Environment

This role requires working in an open-air industrial warehouse environment. The position may involve manual lifting of up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally lifting, with assistance, up to 150 pounds. The warehouse is smaller, and you will sometimes work with a partner.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Yorktown, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
