Job Title: Maintenance Technician - Dual Craft
Job Description
The ideal candidate will possess experience in PLC, ladder logic, and ammonia refrigeration systems. Electrical MX experience is required for all applicants. The work environment is a 40-degree cold setting, with openings on all shifts.
Responsibilities
+ Analyze mechanical and operational processing equipment and resolve issues using hand and trade tools.
+ Repair production equipment including mechanical systems, potentially involving hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
+ Troubleshoot electrical problems, including opening electrical panels, replacing starters, contactors, relays, and interpreting electrical schematics.
+ Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, forming equipment, conveyor systems, and packaging machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
+ Demonstrate knowledge of electrical skills with VFDs and PLCs, including industrial electrical installs, services, repairs, wiring, conduits, fixtures, and other electrical devices and systems in an industrial environment.
+ Read and interpret schematic drawings.
+ Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment following standard operating procedures.
+ Use a computer-based program for entering labor hours, PMs, reactive and safety work orders.
+ Maintain a safe workplace by wearing appropriate PPE and following all safety procedures, including LO/TO.
+ Preferred knowledge of FORMAX, HVAC, HAZMAT, MULTIVAC, and Ammonia Refrigeration.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with hydraulics, maintenance repair, hand tools, machine operation.
+ Proficiency in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and schematic interpretation.
+ Ability to perform preventive maintenance and repair tasks in a mechanical setting.
+ Experience in PLC troubleshooting and electrical troubleshooting.
+ Skill in welding and electrical maintenance.
+ Knowledge of Ac/dc systems and packaging equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to lift 60-80 pounds as required to assist in various facility functions.
+ Capability to perform physical activities such as bending, climbing, and reaching.
+ Ability to read and follow written work instructions, use common hand and power tools, climb ladders, and work in elevated areas.
+ Knowledge of FORMAX, HVAC, HAZMAT, MULTIVAC, and Ammonia Refrigeration is preferred.

Work Environment
Work is primarily performed on the production floor with a temperature maintained at approximately 40°F, and freezer areas are zero degrees or colder. The noise level requires ear protection on the production floor, while other areas have a moderate noise level. Shifts are available on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, with hours covering early morning, afternoon, and night shifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SAUGET, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.
