Quality Assurance Specialist
Pay: $21-23/hour
Shift: 7am-4pm
Job Description
In this role, you will interact with the production team to ensure adherence to food safety processes and procedures. You will manage Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and verify the quality of finished product goods, ensuring full compliance with all government food safety regulations.
Responsibilities
+ Ensure full compliance with all government food safety regulations and maintain the highest possible industry food safety ratings.
+ Ensure that the facility follows all GMP, HACCP guidelines, and company policies.
+ Verify and assure compliance with established food safety and quality objectives through daily monitoring programs, plant supervision, and ongoing verification of internal controls.
+ Enforce new and improved quality, food safety, and sanitation programs, policies, and procedures to ensure that established standards are consistently measured, documented, and maintained.
+ Maintain and recommend improvements to workplace safety programs, procedures, and policies.
+ Perform and document Food Safety (Critical Control Points - CCP) and quality documentation, as per procedure.
+ Conduct ATP and environmental swabs in accordance with procedures.
+ Inform management of shortages in supplies for quality assurance, sanitation, and operations, and assist in maintaining adequate supply levels.
+ Collect, document, and communicate accurate, detailed, and timely data. Address deviations and uphold company standards and expectations.
Essential Skills
+ Quality assurance and control in food manufacturing.
+ Proficiency in HACCP and CAPA.
+ Audit and food safety expertise.
+ PCQI certification.
+ Food handlers certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge and experience in food microbiology, food safety, and sanitation systems.
+ Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively work with all managerial and employee levels.
+ Ability to communicate in Spanish and demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills.
+ Knowledge of company procedures and expectations.
+ Knowledge of HACCP, organic, gluten-free, and allergen requirements.
+ Familiarity with chemical safety and food industry sanitation procedures.
+ Experience with FDA and USDA regulations.
+ Proficiency in computer skills, including Office and Excel.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
