Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing daily work orders, conducting plant inspections, and ensuring the seamless operation of our manufacturing plant equipment. Your expertise in repairing and troubleshooting gearboxes, drivers, conveyors, motors, and packaging equipment will be crucial to maintaining our production efficiency. You will also perform preventative maintenance, work on complex systems like pistons, heat exchangers, and gage systems, and handle electrical tasks such as pulling wire and running conduit.
Responsibilities
+ Complete daily work orders and plant inspections.
+ Repair and troubleshoot gearboxes, drivers, conveyors, and motors.
+ Diagnose and repair packaging equipment.
+ Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing plant equipment.
+ Work on pistons, heat exchangers, and gage systems.
+ Replace sprockets, gearboxes, and three-phase motors.
+ Read blueprints and piping prints.
+ Understand basic electricity concepts, troubleshoot relays and wiring.
+ Handle electrical tasks including wire pulling and conduit running.
+ Maintain boilers and understand steam creation.
+ Understand refrigeration systems including Freon and Ammonia.
+ Possess welding/fabrication skills.
+ Have your own tools.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 5 years of mechanical experience.
+ Excellent troubleshooting skills in pneumatics, mechanical systems, motors, robotics, and air compressors.
+ Proficiency in hydraulics, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and refrigeration.
+ Capability in preventive maintenance and PLC troubleshooting.
+ Knowledge of industrial plant manufacturing.
+ Basic electrical skills and understanding of GMP standards.
+ Ability to read P & ID prints.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ PLC troubleshooting expertise.
+ Welding and fabrication skills.
+ Boiler maintenance knowledge.
+ Possession of a Stationary Engineering License (Maryland 1st or DC 3rd).
+ Firefighter mentality to jump in and help when needed.
+ Willingness to learn and adapt.

Work Environment
The facility is a bustling milk manufacturer, producing up to 180,000 gallons of milk daily. Operating 24/7, the environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring flexibility in shifts, typically starting on night shifts. The union setting provides a structured seniority-based shift arrangement, with potential for shift changes given a week's notice. Dress code is casual but practical, as you will be hands-on with various equipment and systems. Be prepared for on-call duties occasionally.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.91 - $38.91/hr.
