    Job Title: Building Engineer

    Job Description

    The Building Engineer is responsible for overseeing the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, life safety, and tenant requests. This role involves various tasks assigned by the Chief or Assistant Chief Engineer and requires a proactive approach to managing building systems efficiently.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist in ensuring all building systems operate safely, efficiently, and as intended.

    + Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs to building systems and equipment.

    + Complete all service requests promptly and self-initiate service requests as necessary.

    + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local codes and regulations.

    + Collaborate with vendors and contractors within the building.

    + Troubleshoot and repair building systems as needed.

    + Monitor and respond to building emergencies.

    + Seek opportunities to improve maintenance processes and make recommendations to superiors.

    + Respond to 24-hour emergency calls and carry a mobile phone for on-call duty.

    + Work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

    + Interact with building personnel in a cooperative and professional manner.

    + Adhere strictly to all safety rules, policies, and procedures.

    + Assist in maintaining inventory for cost-effective operations.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with HVAC systems and facility maintenance.

    + Ability to troubleshoot and repair commercial building systems.

    + Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.

    + Understanding of BMS/EMS systems.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School diploma.

    + Experience with Central Plant Equipment including chillers, boilers, thermal storage, pumps, heat exchangers, Utility Services, Electrical Power Distribution, and Plumbing/Facility Maintenance.

    + Power Plant experience is advantageous.

    + Prior maintenance repair experience.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
