Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing production machinery, auxiliary equipment, and packaging automation systems. You will also attend to building maintenance, install power supply wiring for newly installed machines, and troubleshoot various mechanical and electrical problems.
Responsibilities
+ Install, maintain, and repair production machinery and auxiliary equipment.
+ Attend to building maintenance tasks.
+ Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical problems.
+ Repair and test equipment for proper operation.
+ Order parts and equipment for projects.
+ Operate cutting torch and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
+ Install programs or repair electrical apparatus.
+ Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
+ Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
+ Enter and follow up on work orders in the PEM system.
+ Maintain Husky Machines.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, heavy industrial maintenance, and preventative maintenance.
+ Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and automation.
+ Ability to read electrical and hydraulic diagrams.
+ Skill in troubleshooting and problem-solving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED required.
+ Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment maintaining automated equipment preferred.
+ Ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions.
+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
+ Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
+ Skill in welding, forklift operation, production, fabrication, assembly, and PLC programming.
+ Ability to effectively present information in group situations.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing plant with night shift openings. Night shift operates from 6:45 pm to 7:00 am. The position requires standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and working overhead in various positions. Safety is paramount, and the ability to operate a forklift safely is essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valdosta, Georgia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
