Minimum qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
+ 8 years of experience in software development.
+ 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
+ 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
+ Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
+ 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
+ Experience designing systems that span multiple domains.
+ Experience in Rust, C++, or other similar performance languages.
+ Experience working to define interfaces between systems and aligning these system's teams around common goals.
+ Experience with quantum computing.

Google Quantum AI's mission is to build this computer and unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. Our roadmap is focused on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. + Design the next generation software stack for Google's quantum computing effort, and work to build the components of this stack and help build the team responsible.
+ Bring high quality software engineering practices.
+ Work across teams to align interfaces and manage compatibility issues.
+ Work with product and leadership to align design of the next generation effort with long term product priorities.
+ Mentor junior engineers, with a particular focus on design skills.
