    HII Mission Technologies is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Air Delivered Directorate in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In this role you will play a key role in supporting research, planning, design, development, testing, and evaluation of electrical components, systems, and products for defense systems. The Air Delivered Capabilities Directorate mission is to develop, integrate, and sustain air delivered nuclear capabilities for warfighters to employ anywhere in the world at any time to deter our adversaries and assure our allies.

    Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!

     

    • Establish design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and testing

    • Produce engineering documentation, reports, and drawings in support of design, development, production, and testing

    • Identify and resolve complex engineering issues for electrical components, systems, and products

    • Analyze electronic circuits through simulation and/or analysis to recommend component substitutions or redesign solutions

    • Document and recommend solutions to electrical components, systems, and products

    • Identify program problems and assist in establishing solutions and improved processes

    • Provide support in maintaining and improving the design of existing electrical components, systems, and products

    • Identify, analyze, and resolve obsolescence issues in electrical systems

    • Plan, perform, and direct engineering activities to ensure design, production, and testing conform to design specifications and requirements

    • Gather, compile, and maintain technical data (e.g., test results, engineering design changes, engineering drawings, engineering documentation) for analysis and evaluation

    • Support the engineering team in execution of various program activities including:

    o Participating in program reviews

    o Interacting, communicating, and presenting to stakeholders

    o Performing and providing engineering analysis and evaluation

    o Reviewing and providing inputs to test plans/procedures and reports

    o Contributing to technical data packages (e.g., technical requirements, engineering drawings, models, diagrams, specifications/standards)

    o Supporting engineering-related program documentation (e.g., Systems Engineering Plan, Security Strategy, Configuration Management Plan, Lifecycle Sustainment Strategy, Test and Evaluation Master Plan)

    o Assisting with test execution and witnessing

    o Supporting system maintenance and troubleshooting

    o Contributing to configuration control and risk management

     

    Requirements: I have already done that or have it!

     

    • Security Clearance: Must possess an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

    • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 0 years’ experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing, developing, building, analyzing, testing and maintaining electrical and electronic systems

    • Demonstrated expertise in engineering concepts and processes related to electrical systems

    • Experience handling and safeguarding sensitive and classified information in accordance with regulations

    • Experience with DoD systems and programs

    • Familiarity with military standards and specifications

    • Ability to work collaboratively in an integrated team environment with military, civilian, and contractor personnel

    Preferred Requirements

    • Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field

    • Background in digital and analog circuit design and analysis

    • Experience with Finite Element Modeling (FEM) of electrical performance

    • Knowledge of Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

    • Experience with DoD acquisition processes

    • Familiarity with Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues

    • Experience with Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and technical documentation development

    • Knowledge of nuclear certification processes (AFI 63-125)

    • Experience with the DoD Risk Management Framework

    • Proficiency with design verification/validation and testing procedures

    • Experience with electrical systems in secure environments

    Physical Requirements

    May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
