Here, you'll not only ensure the technical brilliance of our live streaming events such as the Department's daily press briefing, live virtual press hits, and straight to camera studio recordings, but also shape the narrative by identifying impactful topics aligned with strategic goals. Your mission will be to bring these stories to life, reaching out to relevant global audiences through innovative, data-driven and educational live streams in long and short formats. With your creative vision and technical expertise, you'll help the Department of State engage with the world in real-time.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Direct the technical execution of live streams, handling cameras, audio, lighting, graphics, and conducting meticulous pre-production tests.
+ Conduct live video switching for long and short-form live streams
+ Possess mastery of control-room audio and video switching boards
+ Promptly edit live stream recordings, infuse them with the right metadata, and archive the material following established protocols.
+ Innovate and refine live streaming capabilities, adapting workflows and technologies to meet the studio's standards and the diverse needs of an international audience.
+ Curate and select meaningful topics for live stream events that resonate with our diplomatic objectives and speak to targeted audiences worldwide.
+ Develop creative strategies to present complex diplomatic subjects in an accessible and engaging manner for diverse audiences.
+ Identify and recruit subject-matter experts and dynamic on-camera talent to deliver content compellingly and authoritatively.
+ Coach and prepare talent for live presentations, ensuring message clarity and delivery are on point.
+ Oversee the operational readiness of production equipment and settings, including the physical arrangement of gear as needed.
+ Write scripts and content outlines that bring diplomatic initiatives to the forefront, facilitating informed discussions and enhanced public understanding.
+ Foster strong relationships with State Department stakeholders, providing technical and creative guidance throughout the production process.
+ Demonstrate expertise across all live streaming platforms and production equipment to ensure a smooth and professional broadcast.
+ Keep abreast of and integrate new trends in live streaming and video editing, pushing the envelope of digital diplomacy.
+ Create comprehensive content using web conferencing platforms for a more engaged and interactive audience experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
+ Proven track record in topic research, audience identification, and creative content development for educational purposes.
+ Experience in talent scouting, preparation, and scriptwriting for live productions.
+ Proficiency with web conferencing tools such as Zoom and expertise in live streaming technologies.
+ Comprehensive knowledge of social media engagement and analytical tools, particularly for X (Twitter), Instagram and Facebook.
+ Capability to interact professionally with international audiences and manage on-camera talent, with a strong preference for those seasoned in coordinating with VIPs.
+ Flexibility to travel internationally for production and training assignments.
+ Exceptional poise and adaptability in fast-paced, live production scenarios, with an aptitude for quick problem-solving.
+ Keen interest in current events, U.S. politics, global affairs, and public diplomacy.
+ Strong individual initiative and the ability to work well within a collaborative environment.
+ Excellent organizational skills, self-motivation, and the agility to adapt to change.
+ Positive, unflappable, and resilient temperament, especially in high-stress situations.
+ Skill in multitasking and setting priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven setting.
+ Eligibility to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance.
EDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
+ A minimum of 5 years' experience in live stream production, showcased through an extensive and varied online portfolio.
+ Educational background in film, video production, or a closely related field.
