+ Under the direction of a supervisor, conduct factual and legal research and provide written analyses to address issues pertaining to the Section’s rule making, coordination, or technical assistance responsibilities.
+ Under the direction of a supervisor, performs legal research; synopsizes transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use; reviews case related materials and identifies potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation; writes preliminary drafts of legal memoranda and correspondence.
+ Pleasant phone manner and the ability to interview potentially aggrieved persons about traumatic experiences in a professional, thorough, and sensitive manner is critical.
+ Requires hands-on familiarity with the Government's office and network environment, including but not limited to, data processing environments, including office automation networks, PC-based databases and other applications, internet and server-based databases and other applications
+ Coordinate and track data productions.
Required:
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
+ One hundred percent in-office.
+ Must have a Paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study or an equivalent level of legal training or experience; or an equivalent level of education may be substituted.
+ Candidate must be able to perform detailed searches of court records and other public records utilizing online databases and services such as Lexis-Nexis.
+ Must be able to travel.
+ Familiarity with methods for researching people, property ownership and/or business entities.
+ Solid Relativity experience is preferable.
