Description:

We are looking for a System Admin to join the team on a 6 month contract to hire basis. This person can have an office in any of the 3 locations (Pascagoula, Ocean Springs, Gulfport) but have to live within 30 minutes of one of those locations. After a period of time upon converting to a full time employee, the team works a 50% remote rotating schedule.

The IT Systems Administrator will maintain system stability, security, and performance across cloud and on-premises environments. The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for administering a broad range of technologies and services, focusing on Active Directory (AD), Entra, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Remote Access, Email systems, and Cloud Storage Solutions like OneDrive. In addition to day-to-day operations, the IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for planning and executing upgrades, enhancements, and new implementations, as well as troubleshooting, resolving technical issues, and ensuring minimal downtime for mission-critical systems. The role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security, networking, and applications teams, to ensure system integrity and compliance. The IT Systems Administrator must exhibit excellent problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to customer service.

We are looking for candidates who have measured, hands on systems administration experience within Active Directory, Group Policy, virtualization tools/technologies, and can own a conversation around their experience and their technical experience. Candidates need an understanding of on-premise migrations to cloud environments and how to manage systems in the cloud. The Systems Admin will maintain Active Directory and need experience with Active Directory RSAT (remote server administration tools). We would like candidates who understand Group Policy and can effectively write and re-write group policy. We have around 9000 GPOs.

We are live on Entra ID, but have to remain in a hybrid environment with AD and Entra. SWe have a large VMware footprint and are currently using Horizon, VDI, and citrix, but are planning on moving to Microsoft AVD and Nutanix since the VMware/Broadcom licensing cost have increased so much.

Salary: starting at $85k/year and capped at $120k/year.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field required. Applicable work experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education.

Non-technical skills – someone who is a self-starter. Someone who isn’t afraid to try things on their own first before asking for support. Roy says he is fine with this person breaking something as long as they can fix it, but also he needs them to understand that this is a healthcare system and broken systems can cause lives.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
