Overview The Good Shepherd Hospice Summer Extern Program allows Nursing students to work alongside experienced Registered Nurses, who will serve as mentors. On our high acuity Inpatient Hospice Unit, externs will have the opportunity to develop clinical and critical thinking skills as they build confidence as a nursing professional. Job Details Good Shepherd Hospice Inpatient Unit's Nurse Extern will have the opportunity to observe and assist nurses with daily patient care, patient mobility, measuring and recording patent vitals, observing medical procedures and communicating with patients and family members. Position Qualifications: Currently enrolled as a nursing student in an accredited BSN nursing program Must have completed Nursing fundamentals BLS-Basic Life Support Salary Range USD $18.00 - USD $18.00 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job, and it does not include the value of benefits.
