Lundbeck Seattle BioPharmaceuticals (Lu-SBP), located in Bothell, Washington, is the Process Development Center of Excellence for Biologics within the global Lundbeck CMC organization. Since integrating into Lundbeck in October 2019, Lu-SBP has supported commercial launch of Lundbeck’s first biologic product (Vyepti) and advancement of a growing biologics pipeline in collaboration with our Copenhagen-based Process Science & Validation Team. The Lu-SBP team leads and supports the development of new product candidates from cell line development through commercial validation of Drug Substance and Drug Product manufacturing processes. Internship will run approximately through mid-September - prefer local candidates attending local universities in the greater Seattle, WA area
SUMMARY:
Lundbeck Seattle Biopharmaceuticals (LuSBP) isseekinga highly motivated individual to join thePotency group of theAnalytical Development Department as a summer intern,participatingin analytical methoddevelopment for biopharmaceutical products. The successful candidate will learncell-based functional assays and cell culture,operation ofmicroplate readers,sterile technique, data analysis withSoftmaxand JMPsoftware,relative potencydata interpretation, and documentation of experimental results using an electronic lab notebook.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Learn and perform cell-based functional assays to complete a project over the course of the program under the supervision of mentor.
+ Learn and perform cell culture of adherent cell lines using steriletechnique
+ Learn and perform data analysisand data interpretationwithSoftmaxsoftware andJMP statisticalsoftware
+ Communicate and collaborate within Analytical Development and cross-functional areas (Upstream, Downstream and Formulation Developments)
+ Perform common laboratory calculations for buffer preparation, cellpassaging, and sampledilution
+ Assistin maintenance of labequipment
+ Record experimental data using an electronic labnotebook
+ Analyze and communicate scientific results in written reports and oralpresentations
+ Follow laboratory safetyguidelines
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
+ Enrolled towards a BS or equivalent degree in life sciences (cell/molecular/cancer biology, genetics, immunology, biologicalengineeringor related disciplines)
+ Enthusiastic attitude, team spirit and willingness tolearn
+ Attention todetail
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
+ Completed introductoryCell Biologycoursework
+ Some laboratory experience or basic understanding of laboratory principles and techniques.
+ Strong communicationand collaboration skills
+ Proficiencywith MS programs and tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.
