We perform over 35,000 surgical procedures annually in 36 advanced operating rooms, making this a dynamic and high-impact leadership opportunity in one of the busiest and most complex perioperative programs in the region.
Job Summary | Nursing Executive, Surgical Services
The Vice President of Nursing, Surgical Services provides strategic nursing leadership and clinical oversight for the Surgical Services division. As the perioperative nurse executive, you will operate within a dyad leadership model, partnering closely with Surgery and Anesthesiology leadership to optimize OR utilization, clinical quality, nursing performance, and patient safety across the surgical continuum.
This senior nursing leader is accountable for:
+ Operational performance and continuous improvement in Surgical Services
+ Aligning perioperative practices with regulatory standards and nursing best practices
+ Driving clinical innovation, staff engagement, and high-reliability care models
+ Enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure optimal patient outcomes
+ Leading nurse staffing models, workflow redesign, and surgical throughput initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree required. If Master’s degree is in field other than Nursing, Bachelor’s degree in Nursing also required.
+ Ten (10) years of Surgical Services leadership experience, including nursing and physician relations experience required.
+ Representative knowledge, skills, and abilities of Nurse Administrators per the ANA Scope and Standards required.
+ Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners.
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications:
+ Doctoral Degree in Nursing (DNP or PhD), Healthcare Administration, or related field
+ **National certifications highly preferred:**
+ CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room)
+ CSSM (Certified Surgical Services Manager)
+ CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse)
+ CASC (Certified Ambulatory Surgery Center Administrator)
+ NE-BC or NEA-BC (Nurse Executive Certifications)
