    POSITION SUMMARY:

    MPC’s Galveston Bay Refinery, located in Texas City, TX is currently accepting applications for an experienced Journeyman Maintenance Analyzer Technician. The schedule for this position will be a 4-10 schedule (Monday-Thursday) or a rotating shift schedule (12-hour). An Analyzer Technician will support the operation of the refinery through properly maintaining refinery analyzers. This allows for safe, compliant, and reliable refinery operation to support the refinery’s strategic business goals.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Ensure that all equipment is safely released, and all documents are in order prior to starting work.

    + Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner, within site Health/Safety/Environmental procedures and within applicable codes/standards.

    + Effectively communicate significant safety and equipment issues to immediate supervisor and all applicable levels of site management.

    + Fosters open communications and collaboration across all departments internal to the plant.

    + Maintain professional decorum, working to foster an inclusive environment for all.

    + Complete all required documentation (work orders, calibration sheets, etc.) in a timely manner.

    + Perform calibration and maintenance on all analyzers and associated equipment.

    + Participate in development of maintenance procedures.

    + Fosters a positive attitude, willingness to collaborate and team with others to accomplish work efficiently and to high quality standards.

    + Participate in evaluating and optimizing maintenance routines to maximize plant/equipment availability.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    + ​ High school diploma or equivalent is required.

    + Valid driver's license is required.

    + An Associates degree with an Analyzer field of study from an accredited technical college of university, OR a recognized Analyzer certified Apprenticeship program, OR minimum of two years Military training in a related field, OR two years of Analyzer experience is required.

    + Previous experience and strong knowledge in the installation, troubleshooting, repair and calibration of instrumentation, including control valves, transmitters, and/or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is required.

    + Petrochemical facility experience is preferred.

    + Minimum 2 years’ experience emphasizing analyzers, instrumentation, electrical or process controls is preferred.

    PAY & BENEFITS

    Starting hourly pay for this position is between $43.50 - $56.38 and is typically based on relevant prior work experience, qualifications, and union contract wage rates. Additional increases are based on demonstrated qualification/proficiency and/or years of experience after being hired. Annual increases are scheduled. The position includes a competitive wage, comprehensive benefits package including a company matched 401k, pension, and medical benefits.
