    Job Description Summary

    The System Administrator provides technical support for various systems and applications for the Office of the Public Defender. This position requires technical competence in supporting, and implementing, the full Microsoft ecosystem. You will be part of the Information Technology team ensuring professional, timely and accurate support for a wide range of internal customer needs.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

     

    + Developing, deploying, modifying, and supporting various applications and systems.

    + Performs user account administration on several IT platforms.

    + Provides on-site technical assistance with internal customer issues, requests, and problems.

    + Resolves incidents and service requests by utilizing technical skills, knowledge base, documentation, and IT resources.

    + Participates in and contributes to projects and efforts as assigned.

    + Escalates and engages with senior-level staff when necessary.

    + Performs configuration changes, updates, and upgrades to systems and applications as directed.

    + Engages external vendors and other support personnel as necessary.

    + Participates in the off-hours on-call rotation.

    + Other duties and projects as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    + 5+ years of experience working in a System Administrator role.

    + Working knowledge of Cisco Phone Systems, Switches and Meraki WiFi.

    + Working knowledge of networking including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routers, and firewalls.

    + Working knowledge of Virtual Machines specifically VMware.

    + Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory; Microsoft 365 administration and enterprise level Microsoft software and applications.

    + Working knowledge of SQL Server; including installation, patching and support.

    + Working knowledge of common data management processes including backup and recovery.

    + Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    + Ability to occasionally work hours outside of normal shift including nights and weekends.

    + Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Technical certifications such as CompTIA: A+, Network+, Security+; Cisco and Microsoft.

    + Experience with Cloud technologies (Azure, Google, AWS).
