DESCRIPTION:Rush-Henrietta is seeking a dedicated and visionaryCoordinator of Student & Family Servicesto join our administrative team. This pivotal role is responsible for leading the implementation and alignmentof the community school strategy within the District, addressing chronic absenteeism, improving student attendance, and ensuring compliance with McKinney-Vento regulations. As a key liaison between thedistrict and community partners, the Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing student success, supporting families, and fostering a collaborative school environment.QUALIFICATIONS:The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Community Engagement, Public Health, Human Services, Social Work, or a closely related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.Candidates should demonstrate a strong ability to work collaboratively with families from diverse backgrounds, effectively connecting them to appropriate community resources. A thorough understandingof McKinney-Vento requirements, as well as strategies for improving student attendance and engagement, is essential. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.Candidates must possess or be in the process of obtaining certification as a School Administrator/Supervisor (SA/S), School District Administrator (SDA), or School District Leader (SDL), or be reachableon the appropriate civil service list.SALARY:Competitive per Rush-Henrietta Administrators’ Contract, based on experience.RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Works with the High School Principal to fully develop the school’s plan to become a Community School, including the implementation of needs and resource assessment activities while incorporating various strategies to include a broad cross-section of stakeholders.
+ Works with the High School Principal to integrate the community school work into existing communication and operating structures at the school, ensuring that staff understand how it supports school improvement plan efforts.
+ Works with the High School Principal and District administration to develop, monitor, and manage budgets for community school initiatives, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with funding requirements and District priorities.
+ Collaborates with District leadership to ensure that the Community School initiatives align with the District's strategic plan, policies, and goals for student achievement and family engagement.
+ Makes home visitations, as requested by school-based teams, to connect with families and determine the cause of absences.
+ Supports school teams in developing and implementing strategies to address chronic absenteeism and improve overall attendance rates.
+ Monitors and analyzes attendance data to identify trends and inform decision-making processes.
+ Serves as the district McKinney-Vento liaison, responsible for wellness and residency checks.
+ Serves as liaison for the District on culturally-related community issues.
+ Collaborates with community agencies (e.g., health and human services, department of social services, juvenile services) to support student, staff, and parent needs and provides community and district resource information to families including, but not limited to health services, food, clothing, and housing assistance.
+ Implements systems and structures to encourage effective communication between families and the district.
+ Contributes to the development and implementation of District-wide initiatives aimed at improving student outcomes and family engagement.
+ Participates in parent and student workshops and conferences to promote engagement.
+ Collaborates with the Director of District Safety to ensure a comprehensive approach to student well-being and school safety.
+ Serves as a member of the district safety committee.
+ Assists in crisis response situations, providing support to the safety team while addressing the unique needs of students and families during emergencies.
+ Develops narrative reports on findings for submission to school-based teams.
+ Monitors and assesses the effectiveness of various programs and partnerships.
+ Maintains records and develops reports on program services, data, and outcomes to inform the Assistant Superintendent of Student & Family Services.
+ Performs related duties as assigned by the Director of Wellness and Equity and/or the Assistant Superintendent of Student & Family Services.
